Hi.

Thanks for looking in on our adventure!

Stopover: Las Vegas

Stopover: Las Vegas

Our two-night respite at the Four Seasons was just what I was hoping it would be. We arrived so filthy that I declared everyone – especially the dog – take a bath before touching any furniture.

We wore fluffy robes and ordered room service. We spent some time at the pool. We ate sushi and saw magician Mat Franco perform. We walked down the strip and watched the Bellagio fountains do their thing.

It was fun to see the kids recognize and appreciate the high standards of the Four Seasons. Norah couldn’t get over how clean everything was. She kept leaving strategic fingerprints on furniture in the hallway and then checking to see if it had been wiped away. I believe the final total was Norah – 0, Four Seasons Housekeeping – 5.

I was especially appreciative that the hotel allowed us to park the car and trailer in the loading area behind the hotel, which saved me a two mile walk (or uber) from the large RV parking lot at the other end of the strip.

I was sure that the kids would want to spend the day at the adjacent Mandalay Bay water fun-land, with its lazy river and wave pool, but after just an hour in the beat-thumping, Vegas scene, they asked to return to the more relaxing Four Seasons pool instead. Smart kids.

Even so, after just two days, both kids asked when we would be back on the road and back ‘home’ in our trailer. It’s nice to feel so settled in our little space. Now it’s onward to California, where we will reach both our final southern and western-most destinations of this journey, before we begin our return northeast.
