Hi.

Thanks for looking in on our adventure!

Bellagio: Uno and a Boat Ride

Bellagio: Uno and a Boat Ride

Our morning play was a good one: walk about fifteen minutes up the road and out of the old town area of Bellagio to the Belas Swim Club. This pool offered a day pass and a great spot for the kids to spread out and play. I had big plans to lay on the lido and read a book.

But, just about fifteen minutes after we arrived and despite a little sun icon on my weather app, the skies opened. Then, it rained and rained and rained. So, we hunkered down under an awning and played Uno and Go Fish and did dot-to-dot books, determined to wait out the storm. Eventually, it did clear up enough for the kids to head back into the pool. As we were the only souls there that day, the attendant took pity on us and offered us free croissants and espresso. There are worse ways to spend a morning.

Later, we met up with Eli and rented a small electric boat to cruise around on the lake. The sun was out and getting out on the water is highly recommended as the best way to get a sense of the beauty of the region. We had a great start driving around the lake and taking a few minutes to swim off the back of the boat.

About an hour after our pleasure cruise began, the boat company owner texted us to return to the dock as storms were expected and it would be too windy to continue. We followed the rules, but the rain never materialized and we were disappointed that we didn’t get the chance to spend the full three hours we had planned on the lake.
